Paul, I have one of the starters that itpro mentioned. Its a push-button hand held electric starter operated in the same way as a clutched TKM starter with the shaft fed through a hole in the sidepod. It drives an adapter plate that is bolted to the clutch via some extended clutch cover nuts. It was designed around a K9 but I also used it on a K9C with a slight modification to the adaptor plate. (not sure if it would need a further tweak for a KZ10 or other TM models)
Unfortunately I no longer have the special clutch nuts so you would need to find some or get some made if you are interested in buying it.
The concept never really took off apart from a few of us that used them at Kimbolton, probably because push starting is so easy, however the starter really does work a treat and is perfect for starting the engine on the trolley for running it up to temperature.
The only possible downside is the weight - it must be 15+ KGs so bear that in mind.
If you are interested I will make sure I still have the adaptor plates ( I had 2 or 3 )and I will charge the battery up and check its all OK as I haven't used it since 2010 and the sad demise of regular gearbox racing at Kim.
