Choose a rear sprocket which results in a max of around 12,500 rpm. The engine can rev a bit higher, but you'll need that headroom if your lad is drafting someone in front.

Try to keep the temperature between 110-120C. Though very cold or very warm weather will make that more difficult. I've seem some motors run at around 150C during the summer.

Yes, the ring on the plug needs to be removed if you're using a CHT sensor.

You don't need to adjust plug gap.
