Look on the bright side - it was a bit of free advertising!

FWIW were I not sticking with the V-Clutch for next season, I would be very happy to pay that sort of money for a competitive engine. New "full" engines run in at about £1400 with a factory fiche, and whilst the two I'm using now do seem pretty good (and getting better with age), I'll never know just how good. Buying something well-maintained with a proven track record makes a lot of sense.
