Thanks for reply.
We tried to keep the throttle peddle closed by adjusting the peddle stop but Daniel still had to cover the drake even on tickover to control its speed and stop the kart running away with itself. He set off as soon as we started the engine and we switched the engine off as soon as we stopped.
So am I right in thinking that by applying the brake with no throttle we have burnt the clutch out.
The carb was recently set up for racing so could this be why it's reving with no throttle.
