Can I genuinely ask a naive question?
Why do you try and set the kart up in a different trim to what it's going to run on race day and then seem surprised that it's off the pace when you put it back legal?
Surely different power characteristics, weight etc will change the handling of the kart? We read on these very threads that seat position makes a difference, where you position the lead makes a difference, even the length of the exhaust makes a difference so why do you perfect a set up for the kart in a condition where it won't be raced?
Genuine question mate, I've no axe to grind as we're TKM not cadet. If this genuinely works I'm whipping Alex's restrictor out for testing next weekend. It seems bonkers to me, but I'm prepared to listen.
