"Whilst the NKRA has its regional based championships it is also the platform to the NKRA National Championship."
Indeed. Yet on this thread there are suggestions that some drivers would like to match themselves against drivers from another region but at the Clubman level
The NKRA enables this by having a single dedicated meeting "Grand Finale" which does not affect the regional championship in any way. So if one wants to stop at a regional championship, then one stops there and simply doesn't go to the Grand Finale.
You make a point about the Northern rep promotng Formula Blue, but the area reps are told to encourage any class raced in the Championship. The fact that the Area reps at the time all raced Blues was perhaps unfortunate because people associated the area representative with the class representation.
As you no doubt have discovered, many people are keen on a championship, but there's a lot fewer who are prepared to put in the effort to make sure championships happen, especially if they are unpaid. Spreading the load with someone like the NKRA helps things to continue.
Having a championship in a region as part of a formal structure encourages other regions to do likewise, encouraging more enthusiasts for karting. It's like the 'Grid' problem. There may be a number of people who want to race in a class that isn't currently supported locally. The argument that 'I won't do it because there isn't a grid' means that there will never be a grid.
