The issue is this, my son is 16 now and carrying 10kg of lead to meet the junior weight. we had hoped for one more year in junior with our current kit with a view to feeding him lots of pies to make the senior weight, maybe still with 10kg of lead by the end of next year. to move to senior in jan we would have, maybe by then, 22kg of lead on the kart. i think this is not safe. the idea of retiring would only be to wait until we can make the weight safely.
