Weight of kart and driver?
Minimum weight of 152kg for kart and driver. In race trim our Intrepid weighs 77kg with 4 litres of fuel and 2kg of lead. Theres not a lot of mag parts on our kart, an OTK viper which has more mag parts can be made to weigh around 67kg with a small fuel tank and a litre of fuel.

What is life range of the slicks?
We did both racedays at the Anglian cup this weekend on the same set with no drop off in performance at all. We normally do two racedays and then use them for practice until they've done about 250 laps. They will go on longer and do the ame laptimes but the sidewalls seem to go soft and you lose some consistency.

Hours until rebuilds?
8 to 10 hours

Best year motor or series?
The new CNC barrels that were on engine numbers after approx 6300 (Talko will be able to confirm the actual number)are much more consistent than the older barrels however an good older barrel is still good its just that the newer barrels are all good. A lot of people buy an older engine and change the barrel for a new one.
Don't buy a TAG engine or a direct drive engine based around the newer TAG bottom end. All new engines come with a TAG style bottom end and these are 1 kg heavier and the weight is in the crank and associated parts and they just don't seem have the top end that the older style have.
