Hi all, last year I bought a kart chassis and an engine etc etc, built it, bolted it and that was that, when I first got the kart running it was very smokey and lacked power, couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. I took some advice from this site about carb settings and still couldn't find the result I was looking for. I tried it with a few other carbs and still the thing wouldn't fly. The engine has plenty of compression so I thought I must be doing something wrong, therefore I took it down to my local track @ Hooton Park to see if Dave the gaffer there could help sort it out. To be honest the service wasn't that great in my opinion nor the advice offered, just buy a new one was the sort idea I got from him. By the time time passed it was winter and I gave up, but this summer I want to get out and have some fun with it. The engine is a Vortex 100cc water cooled reed valve, which has a Hubchen 3 jet Carb on it which has recently been serviced and seemed fine on a pressure test. The bloody thing wont start now so I'm looking for someone to sort it for me, I live on The Wirral and dont mind travelling a bit, just want to sort it out, can anybody help? cheers, Stu, 07500 090 225 or stuwhittall@hotmail.com
