The only thing that's more expensive is initial cost of engines. But then it should be cheaper rebuild times wise. It only gets really expensive when you run with a top team at S1/FKS, but that is down to new tyres / equipment etc rather than the specific class being expensive.

If you're son is only 12 then he would have to go into MiniMax, with an option to do Junior Max when he is 13. The minimum weight for Mini is 135kg with driver and kart. How much does your son weigh if you don't mind me asking?
