Racing at the top level does not have to cost the complete crazy brain transplant money that has been quoted.

The reason the price has shot through the roof is because the engine builders and chassis importers keep pedaling there equipment and saying it needs rebuilding/ replacing after each meeting – which is not the case. Change your chassis when it goes off, and have an engine rebuild when you can feel the power fade, or you’re past the recommended blow up hours of your engine.

Lewis , Jenson, Davidson and Catt in the early days did karting on a budget in a father and son team and then the results starting coming, then they got free chassis’s and free engines, and the karting became cheaper.

Don’t be sucked into one of those silly mega money dream teams that don’t even let you touch the kart or even let you know what is being adjusted, because you will learn nothing about the aspects of setting a kart up, and then when you go to formula Ford/ formula Renault you will have not a clue.

So sleep in the Transit van, make your cheese and pickle sandwiches and flask of tea and enjoy cheap fun racing. Work as a family and the results will come!!
