All Ignitions changed and in place 2 weeks before the finals ????? as you have stated its a commercial class (monopoly, everything through one dealer for UK,allegedly restrictive practice under EU law ), I will check with the MSA as changes part way through a season are usually only allowed on safety grounds as once again they are concerned and becoming paranoid about increasing costs to members, and this is one hell of a cost !!. Some of the problems in the past sending boxes back to Tabor has been the 6 months it took to turn them round and the "repair" price
Before the 5A box it was a 5 box before that a 4 then a 3 and a 2,some of the 5 boxes had FRENCH instruction stickers on,(I have even got an origional NKRA champions 2 box !!! still same output but a third of the price,) I even found out where these French 5 boxes boxes came from and still coming from, and are still available got one a month ago for a Non MSA guy,but by stamping them 5A and TAB'ing them ££££,s again, the factory does not stamp TAB on them.
Likewise the rules used to state only IAME /TAB 10 tooth drive spkts allowed, now they have no name on them and last b##ger all time, and lets not go down the £130 a time for a starter when they are the same as the £25 Chinese ones off Ebay !!! but with Tabor no's etched on.
This is why they (TABOR/NKRA have relented and allow each driver the facility of starting with the aid of a TKM type starter once during a meeting if your starter fails....thats presuming you have paid out the £130 to carry a spare in the first place.
Here's an option, rumour from Italy is the BLUE production is finishing in a year ish, there is only us using it and hey presto, distributor allegedly has just sold a new engine after a barren 12 months,so how about replacing this engine for every weight driver in the year 2013 with the Parilla X30 tag engine (as the Americans are doing with the Leopard)one engine for all weights of driver with suitable restriction for Jnr and Snr as per Rotax, this is not introducing a new class,it is replacing the existing ageing engine,as Cadet is for the Comer..check the spec of the Parilla X30 and re-build times ,power etc. A minimum p/x price for old Blues or sell them to the Non MSA boys(fastest growing kart market at the moment)a dealer is already interested and would be willing to a p/x o long as they run.
Its up to you, move on or stagnate.
