I was the FIRST person up here in the N WEST 6 ish years ago with a BLUE. I was then asked by Libre Motorsport who sold Birels not Blues, to let my lad join with 2 of their drivers to do some BLUE intro racing with MBKC.

It took off at MBKC Wigan,also at Hooton Park and GYG, enough to have the Finals there,such WAS the support in the N West,it was really going places,THEN RON maybe because he did not like the skinny kids beating the old stooges, changes the MSA approved Formula Blue 100cc class by introducing (under testing conditions !! )the dreaded GREEN top 119.
Even during testing as it had no restrictor sorted out,the test drivers were thrashing us and no dis respect to the 2 test drivers, even took the pots !!.
Many restrictors (at Ł20 a throw) later its NEARLY the same,except out of corners,especially in the wet,therefore an unequal class,hence the rot started (Pre the Recession),hence the current situation, FACT, I have spoken with nearly all the ex N West blue drivers and polled current ones.
If you are a person of larger diameter around the waist area do something about IT,not run a bigger engine than the others in your race,then again dealer driven class (no influence on NKRA decisions,whilst a member I was never asked)

I have NO vested ŁŁŁ interest in Formula Blue as I can race whatever,wherever my pension will allow,and have done, likewise my lad( Mercedes Benz Driver of the Day recently at Oulton Park !!) got the T shirt and the video etc ,have really enjoyed our time in Blue.

Recent goings on locally have soured Blue for us hence my lad has walked from it as ChKRC Champion again,it is a clubbie class not Super One and does not need megga money throwing at it to win,it is just an enjoyable class,even at 64 I recently won The Masters,Veteran and novice trophies and Ł400 prize money oh and 2 sets of tyres (on a 100cc Blue at 90 KG PERSONAL WEIGHT)at a mini Formula Blue NKRA series over 2 meetings at MBKC !!.

I have introduced many people to Formula Blue and ALWAYS stood up for it , and it will be a shame if it goes belly up in the North West

What will help the class up here??,tell ME and I will get on the case before its too late..
