Im living in the US these days and somehow managed to get one of these! Seems to run rather nice but I’ve been kind of winging it on setup and I have a few (OK a lot!) questions....Nobody over here, including the supposed importer knows anything specific about it. Doesnt look to be tuned at all, original casting marks can still be seen, there is a bit of a "dip" in the inlet tract before the reeds, not sure if its from the factory or not, but anyway, here are my questions
# Whats the optimal squish clearance?
# Is the ignition a CDI unit with a "curve?" or just analogic like a PVL on a KZ?
# Is it rev limted? (Doesnt seem to be).
# Does anyone have a dyno sheet from it in stock form? It seems to run out of steam around 13,800, does this sound correct?
# How do I adjust the ignition timing on this thing? the setup is quite a bit different from a PVL. I cant rotate the stator without drilling new holes, can I change the position of the rotor on the crank?
# What marks am I lining up to actually set the igntion timing? closest thing I can find to a mark shows is when I line the mark on the rotor with the line on the bottom coil on the stator. Going by this, I'm set at 1.7mm BTDC which might be a bit early for long circuit I think.
# In terms of parts, I think I can get a TM piston in there if I add the chamfer to the skirt, what about crank seals and soforth? Are they the same as your typical KZ\ICC?
Any info that comes to mind would be great. I have put a VHSH30 on it from KZ\ICC for the sake of simplicity as we have a few of those in the garage and I had a really weird sieze with the round slide carb last year
