I know most of you will answer "they are made of cheese" but i cant justify buying the new style clutch so...... can any engineer tell me which is the best grade of steel to turn these from? Say EN1a? EN8? EN16? etc etc. There are obviously other grades and these are just the 3 EN numbers i used to deal with many years ago and have now forgotten the properties of one grade against the other!
I have had my clutch's repaired (replaced) in the past via a place in this country with little success in the way of them lasting very long so im going down the DIY route with a local tool shop. They will give me their opinion as to which is best but i thought as we all race a kart on here someone may have some first hand experience of this modification. (for what its worth i can run repaired pins where i race).....no its not M.S.A. Obviously!
