If the sizes are correct, then one is 100cc "old" senior (pre-2004 spec - NOT Extreme) or current junior spec and the other is an Extreme. .....and on that basis it will make a difference. The extreme is around 115cc. TalKo quote 16.8bhp for 100cc & 18.8bhp for extreme.
The 51.3 will have 2 piston rings, the 54.4 only 1. If these are sizes on the pistons, then 51.3 has 2 sizes left (51.34 & 51.40), the 54.4 (54.45 piston) has 3 (54.55, .65, & .75)
The 51.3 could be "Extremed" to give 6 further sizes but this would exclude it from use as a junior motor.
