Different weights, different venues, different cost. Depends if you intend to spanner yourself, overall aim, where you intend to race etc
Best advice is go and talk around your local track paddock, talk to local kart shop, and try a midweek test day or a club meet saturday practice to talk to more people. I wouldnt try and talk to folk on a raceday. If you are near clay or shenny happy to talk some basics and point you towards some people you should talk to.
DONT buy anything until you have done your homework. You will get 1001 different views, but some themes will be the same from everyone.
