Yes, these have been approved for msa racing. It has taken several months of hard work but these have now been approved to use in 125 open. The tyres are manufactured by Kartline and all sets are equal in performance unlike some regular brands, as the rotax class found out last year "barcodes". So this means you can enter as a 125 open and use these tyres. This also means you can run rotary or reed valve engines so this may attract drivers who have a gearbox kart but not kz spec. Personally I feel this is really good news for this class. As you all know to be competitive and test you will go through 2 sets of tyres is a weekend. The club driver simply cannot afford to do this on top of his race entry fee, practice fee, travelling costs etc, so straight away he is at a dissadvantage. I have raced for almost 30 years on and off around the world and everyone will agree that new tyres give the biggest advantage. I personally one time at wigan bolted on a new set of dunlops (formula A) and went 2.6 seconds faster. Luckily for me then I was sponsored and ran a karting business but now I don't. I am married with 2 kids to support, mortgage, council tax and rest of the bills to attend to. For me and many others in my position they CAN afford to race and COMPETE again. Well done to Derek at Magnum and MBKC and members.
