I may be wrong but I believe that the MSA approve the regulations submitted by the class organiser - in this case JAG. These regualtions included an overlap period when the Vega and Mojo tyres could overlap and from previous threads it was suggested that the overlap was agreed bercause there was no significant difference in performance. For the wet tyres there was no overlap because the Vega was found to be quicker. Graham S will be able to explain where the ABKC fits in but I would guess that their steering committee afreed the proposed regs. Then some clubs announced that they would only allow the Mojo to be used from 01.01.11 but special permission was needed from the MSA to run a MSA meeting with different rules. It sounds as if there is a performance difference as the Vega warm up quicker but maybe the original tests were carried out in warmer weather? So, a basically sound suggestion of allowing an overlap so that drivers cfould use up any stock of vegas now seems to be not such a good idea. Probably the only certainty now is that whatever action is taken (or not taken)there will be as many unhappy people as there are happy ones. Of course, we don't know when this problem came to light and who knew about it.
