Firstly well done to Danny for winning the SKRC Champs this year.

I think you will probably find that through the summer months a straight well sorted old chassis will compete with anything at the hands of a decent driver. The results through the summer at SKRC show Danny on his 7 year old Blade was on a similar pace to Dan K on his new Wright and us on a 4 year old Storm. However when the weather is cold and damp I think a new chassis is a definate advantage.

Interestingly I seem to recall Ross Gunn ran his very old Blade at S1 & Stars this year at some of the meetings and I think he did Ok against people with every make and colour of alternative chassis. So you don’t need a brand new chassis almost every other round to compete as some will lead you to believe.

We are looking at which new chassis to run at S1 this year but it is hard to make a decision until there is some track time on the Zip and Wright in both wet and damp as well as dry with some temp in the track.
