"Ive noticed the class Rotax 177, as im around 14 st it would suit me well, also DD2 but i cant seem to find any championships for it near me, im based south west, so clay, llandow, dunkeswell are my locals."
You title the thread "What class?" yet you seem to have made up your mind.
If your locals are Clay, Dunks, Forest etc, then at 14 stone you might want to look at Formula Blue which races at all those sites and has a restrictor system so that you are not handicapped by weight nor do you carry more than 10kg of lead (actually the practical maximum is nearer 5kg ) up to about 19 stone!.
Water Cooled, on-board alternator (so the battery doesn't fail in mid race), electric start and cheaper to maintain yourself than a Rotax. The tyres last longer too.
There's a National Championship too, run under the NKRA umbrella.
Take a look at planetkarting.co.uk
It's an alternative to 177, better or worse might depend on your point of view. The grids are slightly smaller at the moment, but ferociously competitive on track, with perhaps less contact driving than some Rotax grids thanks to the harder tyres.
