When has cost cutting measures ever had any real tangible effect in motorsport? Hardly ever! Resources are simply relocated into other areas you can't control.

Also, limiting engines will only hurt the club racer who fancies a go at the big time. They may only have 2 engines so would have to purchase more engines if they still want to compete on a club level because they would have to save their 'championship motors'. Why should they suffer? The rich kids can buy more engines for other events while poorer kids only have their championship sealed engines they will not want to use.

Also, what raises costs is that young drivers are being snapped up into these F1 young driver programmes. Suddenly winning at Cadet and Junior level is the be all and end all for a drivers career. This is why so much money is pummelled into that scene.

Yes there are some practical decisions that can be made like the tyre one and having only 2 day events, but it won't give poorer drivers more of a chance to show their talent.
