I would disagree, the type of battery involved has been proved in a variety of applications. Radio control cars for example use a similar type for racing competition and have done for some considerable time, and especially the off road racing are subject to some harsh conditions and the vibrations and knocks from jumps etc would soon upset them if they were prone to failing.

I dont race rotax or even use these batteries but saying 'some of these can fail after 5-50 laps' is just wrong, unless you have tried a few or have examples!
