The same principles apply with engine building. There are many minor adjustments that you make when building a race engine that many people would say 'that will make no difference' and indeed it is impossible to see the individual changes on the Dyno.
But cumalatively, they all add up to make a good engine, slightly better. Same with the chassis, maybe just loosening the pods will make no difference, but when everything including the seat, floor tray, back bar and front bumper are loose, then maybe it will help some drivers. But as previously said, only your own testing will tell you whether it works for you.
Last month another karting father asked me to look at his set-up. As a former Clio cup championship winning driver he is remarkably useless at working on a kart. He was concerned that having slackened off the front of the kart it was now handling terribly. I was alarmed to discover that he had slackened off the King Pin bolts!!!!!!!
