Just like to say a big thanks the all those who helped me out the weekend in pushing my son Kyle (JTKM 24) at his first race weekend.
After a great Friday and Saturday getting the tent set up, the kart ready, getting those Sat afternoon practice sessions in, I ripped a muscle in my calf while trying to get him started (rendering me useless as his pusher).
As the driver Kyle had a faultless weekend, he went out there done what he had to do, beating his previous fastest lap several times and kept it on the blackstuff.
I have to apologise to him for the final when he had to retire due to MY schoolboy error. While changing the carb I also decided to put a fresh air filter on and in the process forgot to tighten up the carb bolts. Can't believe he actually got a lap in as the carb was only held on with one very loose bolt when I got to park ferme.
The competition throughout the heats at the back of the pack with the other novices was in my eyes great and would have been continued in the final (but alas, if only).
Anyway what was done was done and we now look forward to the next meeting, he may have to back to clutched, if I can't bring along some pushers.
It would be unfair to mention individuals for thier much appreciated help as there were dads lads and spectators who I don't know thier names (but will remember thier faces) and if in the future I can be of any help just ask.
