Both are legal. The only difference is that the B has the pulse take-off.
The standard carb is only used on the 85cc IAME PUMA, but it is too big for the engine and doesn't work properly (The 100cc uses a bored out HL344AB like that used on a Leopard). Thus the French have several carb builders (Kilt, Art etc.) who drill out and modify the low side fuel holes to run the high side as well. They then run the low side out 2 whole turns and the high side between 5 minutes and closed as a base setting. Neadless to say the karts run like a bag of sh!t and almost invariably 2 or 3 from a full grid won't even pass the start line. However between a standard, supplied with the kart, carb and the best selected/modified there is up to about 3 seconds, good even racing for 10 year olds, not. The problems are far worse than was seen last years in comers yet after 8 years the carb remains like this.
We (some other Anglo Saxons) have made progress running two pump gaskets and normal tillotson settings, but next year the carb will be changed. As usual the highest bidder will be getting the gig, rather than the best carb for the job.
Jaded? Moi?
