What experiences have people had with the new vega tyres?

We turned up at buckmore this weekend and slapped some new rubber on for sunday unaware there had been a change and were suddenly miles off the pace !

talk in the paddock was everyone had tried the new tyres saturday and gone half a second slower (against used rubber!) and everyone was using either tyres from old batches or good used sl6's.

I found I just didn't have the mid corner grip..

Any similar problems? and ideas of durability/consistency ?
