There is an easier way, take the seat stay bolts out of the seat, mark where they sit against the seat with a felt pen, get someone to stand in the seat and you will see how much it moves,(i agree some of this will be the seat flexing but not all of it) chassis are made up of 30/32mm tube which is designed to flex, we add and remove stiffness all the time with torsion bars, so there is no reason why adding or removing stiffness in this area with seat stays wont have the same effect
