Yeah that is good to clean it but do not take any metal off it.
Also when you tighten the screws you can on some get it to catch so make sure you tighten it evenly and central. Also make sure the gasket is good and the vent hole is open and the right way or it will not operate well.
If any cleaner has been on the bellow it can have effect on it as well.
