almost every gearbox racer I know uses a Dellorto VHSB 39mm (which are usually subsequently machined, polished etc) I used to use one on my Rotax 257, I use on on my CR250, there is a guy where I race that runs a KTM 250 and i'm pretty sure he uses one too, not sure of the age of his engine though but its pretty universally used on every 250 i've ever seen.
