I would not touch lipo batterys for karts, Ive been using them in model aeroplanes for a couple of years, they are only good for roughly 100 cycles, If i was you i would look to get A123 batterys they come in Dewalt drill battery packs or you can buy them from robotbirds, You will need a dedicated charger for lipo and A123 batterys, cant just charge them with any charger.
