Rotax Crank Seal Replacement

Can the crankshaft oil seal on the balancer gear side be replaced without a crankcase split and reseal?
Has anyone got a reliable method of getting them out?
If the oil seal flat side was fitted to the outside as it is on the clutch side, I think you could carefully drill holes, insert screws and pull it out, but its the other way round on the gear side.
