Ok guys, seems like a lot of my comments werre taken out of proportion and I wanted to clarify a few points to reassure some people who seem to be in the same boat or of the same viewpoint that I was before I tried the new tyres. Let me start by saying, I was against all the changes to the TKM class and wanted it to stay as it was.

The new tyres ARE stickier and ARE comparable on performance to the Rotax tyres. However, they don't seem to wear out that quickly. The set I used had done well in excess of 70 laps. On the same day, Joe Forsdyke put on a brand new set and was 6 tenths slower than us on exactly the same Tonykart EVR and he's a fairly good benchmark. The tyres definately have longevity in them. Probably more so than the old set which were no good after 1 meeting (well not if you wanted to actually stand a chance of winning). So I think, you may actually get away with leaving the tyres a couple of meetings before changing them and be at no disadvantage. They seemed very good and I REALLY enjoyed driving the kart. TKM is going to be a different class next year. There are a different set of challenges to driving the kart quickly. IT was honestly very enjoyable and I think its gone the right way.

Although TKM are pushing Press releases to us etc. I'm assured in no uncertain terms by more than one person, the Tag is 3 tenths down on the good DD stuff. In my opinion the TAG needed to work to move the class on, but they haven't got it right. So I wont be rushing out to buy one.

Seems nobody has tried the Storm much with TKM configuration??
