We've run a 2003 rotary valve Vortex and then put a Rotax on the same chassis with same tyres before. 100cc ended up couple of tenths quicker over a lap, a heck of a lot more fun and noisy and pulls cleanly through the revs, but for some strange reason the Rotax feels quicker due to the power valve I guess and the huge surge it has.

Cant see a way that the Rotax would ever be able to overtake the 100cc though.
