Last weekend, Charlie was pulled off the restart grid because his rear bumper had snapped at the joint - not a rear smash into the tyres, just a nudge from behind. Fair enough.....A duck tape wouldn't have been a safe remedy.
However, the practice bars we use are welded and the joint is far stronger than the manufacturers joint. I may be wrong but is it illegal to have a welded bumper? If so, this would indicate that you have to spend a fortune in replacement bumpers which are weaker than repaired ones,
Rather than start an argument about how it should be, I'd appreciate confirmation of the rules. Then, subject to the response, perhaps something could be done to reduce costs and reduce the risk of damaged bumpers and lost races.
