There is a differance between the 12.5 and 8.5 and some like one over the other .I prefer the 12.5 and a few I changed and they like the 12.5 but that is personal preferance !!You will not mess it up as it can be changed back easily and exactly the same as it was so no issues !!!
So yes you are missing a differance that is available !!!!
