Old-n-Fat ... have you looked at the alternatives to Rotax? If you don't mind travelling to circuits around the country Easykart might suit you. 125cc air cooled motor closer to what you used to race, 20hrs betwen rebuilds with perhaps a piston after 10 is all you need to run right at the front as the gearing is fixed per circuit and only one engine allowed per driver.

If the travelling isn't for you then there are other slightly less "cheque book" classes like Formula Blue worth considering too.
