Hi twiglet my lad is in minimax and we run the Birel RY30 S1 we are still fairly new to karting, but we love it the Birel we're now only tenths off top S1 drivers its good to work on and you get great support from Andy Cox and his team, well worth giving him a ring and having a chat with him. The brakes are awsome aswell front geometry is well designed for changing easily......all in all we cant fault it. hope this helps
