Ive got a silver rad which had developed a leak. i took it to my local radiator shop who leak tested it to find a split about 1 inch long in one of the vertical channels (not sure of correct terminology) 2 options..... First take it away as they couldnt weld it due to the very thin nature of rad! or they would seal it with an epoxy glue and make sure it was 100% watertight afterwards or no money crossed hands! I took the second option only to discover when i picked it up to find, they had in my eyes drilled into the tube/channel with say a 2mm drill at the top and at the bottom. They had then "opened" the holes up to help the epoxy glue get a good grip inside the hole, effectively isolating that part of the rad!!!!!!! Result is that i have a 100% leak proof rad with what does indeed look like ""Araldite"" blobbed either end of my damaged tube and £58 lighter!!!! I now know i should have thought of this idea myself and saved £50 but hey a lessons learnt! Just hope that the blanking off 1 tube will not add to to much to the overall running temp whilst racing.......only one way to find that out!!
