Rotax kid,
you know how it is in this sport/hobby/pastime whatever you want to call it, people will pay ANYTHING to get an edge and get that recognition that (I think) we all crave. In order to race at MSA level, your Rotax has to be sealed which means the dealers can charge these prices and we have to pay - end of!
It smacks of a cartel to me but hey, that's just me being cynical...
