Kart dealers make their money from consumables fact of life,one dealer charges Ł19.50 for a DID chain,another trader apologises for having to put his up to Ł15.00,thatleaves the customer to choose where he shops,customer choice,a free market economy..

Tyres supply is a FIXED monopoly as we seem to pay more in the UK(nothing at all to do with exchange rates),its been going on for years well before the financial meltdown last Novenmber.
Its down to the likes of JAG,Andersons for Dunlop, Tal Ko etc the sole tyre importers, its price fixing, the same tyres are cheaper abroad..

I bought 10 sets of brand new wet tyres from Kartmania last year from the sole importer for our class of racing,all stamped class legal for Ł40 a set as they had been in stock 6 months and as there had been little rain last season he had to dispose of some stock,these tyres are Ł142 a set, hows that for inflation or how much do they REALLY cost to seemingly lose so much on stock disposal

The plus side of it is the Ł40 ones are just as good as the Ł142's, some now being 12 months old.
I just wish the slicks were the same,they can be bought in Italy for half the price here as they are not using them there any more for big meetings as they have alleged production quality issues on consistency,only in clubbie type ones,but oh dear,they haven't got the little @@@ sticker on...
Funny how the stickers are never left on old tyres !!!they peel off and could be glued on grey import tyres with puncture patch adhesive by unscrupulous people trying to save over 50% on tyre costs.!!!!,although the manufacturers website does show them in Euros at the same price as they are in UK for pound notes as its basically 1 for 1 now anyway,thereby seemingly supporting their monopolistic dealers.
