What Makes the 2009 barrel so good!!

lots has been talked about "CNC" machining and "port positions" on the new 09 barrels but can someone expalin what makes these barrels so good.
CNC machining will just make them more uniform but Rotax must have decided to make them uniformly better!!

Is it the port height that makes a good barrel?
I presume its the exhaust port that is the important one.

Have just measured my senior barrel and the top of the exhaust port is 28.8mm down from the top of the cylinder. is this good or bad!!

Have also checked a junior barrel and the same measurement is 32.4mm (3.6mm lower than my senior!!)
