Hi All, our Max engine seems to run hotter than everyone elses despite us using the same settings as other people (we are non-MSA so people freely share info). Untill recently, we were regularly hitting 70+ degrees after about 8 laps; we were advised to get rid of the antifreeze/inhibitor in the coolant and run on neat water which we have and it now runs at about 65 degrees but this is still some 7 degrees higher than most of our competitors - this is despite using exactly the same plug and carb settings as the others too. Initially, the engine is very crisp and well on the pace but as it gets hotter, we are losing between 0.5 and 1.0 sec a lap because the engine loses power. For info, the head and piston is very clean and we have tried a new exhaust, power valve is clean and new bellows fitted, carb is cleaned regularly, we always use fresh fuel and oil is Shell X at 50:1. It's a black radiator model with no thermostat and the whole cooling system has been flushed and appear to be clear - all this to no avail, it still fades after a few laps. Engine is an 03 but on low hours Can anyone throw any light on this please?
