Long answer....probably No.

Look up 'chordal action' (http://chain-guide.com/basics/2-2-1-chordal-action.html)to see why.

You might get a 3% power difference at one speed, but as you rev across 10,000 rpm (eg from 6,000 to 16,000) several times a lap what was an advantage at one speed is a disadvantage at another.
