I bet John S has some choice words about how brilliant the Motronix is...
I havent tested the product, but I really cannot see how its going to offer anything more than a finger in the air for typical main jet - and I can do that unaided by looking at the plug, thanks.
What we all know is that -
1. every max engine / carb / exhaust combo is different and requires a tailored package to be correlated to its individual requirements
2. there is so much more to jetting a max than the "big hole" and everything affects everything else
3. temp and pressure variations then play tricks on all of the above to make it a minefield of wrong settings and a transient, anorexically slim range of "perfect" settings.
So far as I know, there is only one product on the market that does this and put simply it cant be done with 9 led's on a screen printed plastic box, however convenient that might seem.
I looked on Motronix web site - is it for real or a spoof?
If I wanted to find a product about jetting a Rotax I would probably try entering something like, oh, I don't know, "rotax jetting" in any search engine and go to the site that was most relevant!
Then I would read the credentials, testamonials and supporting information backing up the product, and wonder why anyone bought any other jetting program / device...
I don't have it yet unfortunately (new to karts this year and 2 sons in MM / JM, both still at novice stage cause understandable cash issues!) but I've seen it in action, and it works - brilliantly.
(I can't mention the product as that would be advertising, but - Hey John - please can I have a discount on a Jet-tech Max and Weather Pro for this observation?!)
