Following accusations of cheating at Fulbeck last weekend, the first three finishers in the WTP final had their engines, exhaust and carbs impounded.
Today, all three were examined in great detail by JM Engineering (the importers) and all three found to be MSA legal.
Now to the point of the message.
To the person or persons who leveled these accusations, allow me to explain how these fine three young Cadets drove so well.
First: They drive regularly together and have done for nearly two years.
Secondly: They have a respect for each other, work together when necessary and understand that a race isn't won on the first corner.
Third: I know the other two dads spend endless time in preparation, (as so do I and Aidan) to ensure their kart in is the best condition possible: putting it away after the meeting just won't do.
Forth: They have all kept on throught the winter, snow, rain or whatever. Have cleared snow from circuits to make racing possible, not given up when things don't quite go right and learn from their mistakes.
Fifth: Have "served their apprenticeship" by spending lots of "time in seat": something that can't be bought.
Our thanks to Danielle, the Fulbeck Competition Secretary, MSA Scrutineers, Mike Mills, Paddy and the other dads concerned in clearing up this matter.
Now lets lay these rumours to rest and get back to the sport of Karting.
Dave & Aidan.
