GQ, we race at club level and only do one circuit which is Tattershall. I don't know if you have been there but, it has a very tight/slow infield and a decent straight and we have found previously that what we gain on the straight is quickly lost on the infield and vice versa. Based on what you say, I am going with the following:
float height set to 3mm (I have no idea what it is at the mo)
165 main jet
needle set at second notch from top

or would you suggest different?

It's an 8.5 carb by the way
