Super 1 - some observations

The indelible image of Super 1 at Whilton this weekend for me, was the sight of the garden shed perched at a worrying angle on the roof of the club house where a rather large gentleman carried out his commentary on what was going on, giving his own personal opinion acting as judge and jury rather than just reporting factual information on an impartial basis. When this guy wasn't commentating on the mic I heard him being pretty rude to various people at various times during the day. During the driver line up his lack of knowledge regarding driver names (didn't have a clue who anyone was apart from Luke Varley and Mike Simpson) was embarrassing. Is this guy really the best that we have to offer?
The amount of teams slipping their clutches was a shock to me although when it was obvious what was happening I think that Paul Klaassen and his team made valiant efforts to level the paying field although in reality it was too late. Lubing the clutch to get an advantage for a few laps is one thing but physically altering the shape of the clutch drum is simply illegal and should be rewarded with exclusion in my opinion - one team in particular has perfected this technique - congratulations, you must be very proud.
Lastly the introduction of John Hoyle to the Super 1 team has dramatically improved things. Also I think that John and Jean from JAG did a sterling job in difficult conditions..... but I just can't get the image of the garden shed out of my head....
