I have a couple of issues with what nonsense is being spouted on here.

First of all, by the nature of what it is, all bearings must be lubricated in some way, whatever type they are. Why else does everyone lube their chains? I have to say that I'm surprised JAG are saying to use an LM type grease. It's a long time since I left college, but doesn't that mean Low Melting point grease????? We need the exact opposite don't we????

Secondly, where in the blue book or any other regulation 'do not lube your clutch'? I keep being told this is covered by the biggest joke of a reg, if it doesn't say you can, you can't!! I still use the old type clutch and with the best will in the world, chain lube finds it's way into everywhere. POTLESS, EVRYWHERE. I don't lube my Son but hos race suite has oil on it, should that come under the same regulation????

JAG, ABkC & MSA, Here's my suggestion. Make it bloody legal. That way people can put what they want on the clutch and everyone is in the same boat. I think they'll find that it gives virtually no advantage at all after a lap or so. In fact too much lube WILL be a disadvantage. A slipping clutch WILL NOT move a kart as well as a gripping one!!

Lastly, I've heard of some Heath Robinson check to see if the clutch slips within the pits. it called driving over a piece of wood!! Has nobody got any brains. Surely the heavier the kart/driver package the more revs it will need to move let alone drive over a piece of wood! A rev counter won't help either as the same applies. How many of us start the kart with our foot under a wheel or on the back bar just incase the throttle is stuck? Surely that proves that you need higher revs to pull a greater weight.

Make lube legal, fewer exclusions, insinuations and accusations of cheating now!!

Come on JAG, we all pay you hundreds on thousands of £s every year. Oh and another thing, are you going to give refunds on 09 barrels if they're no better than the 08 rubbish you imported??? After all, you're selling based on them being better! Are they 'FIT FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED' or are you mis-selling them?? PInk Carbs spring to mind! LOL!
