Hi booney
I have raced, won many races and run rotax teams for about 8 years now.... if your jetting is correct feeding the power in is a load of old tosh. I never have and I never will feed the power in...
The lifting off effect your son is feeling is usually a major part of mini max and junior max racing for when your running a LEAN jet.... not usually as affetive in seniors though it will still work....
How it works is.... you come off the corner flat out NOT FEEDING IT IN slide in the carbrettor is now fully open so is at running at its leanest.... as you come down the straite u start to back off the trottle gradually which shuts the slide down slightly. what this is doing is shutting the carb off slightly which therefore lets less air into the engine making it run RICHER...
From this you can probably establish that pre setting the trottle is just a eay way round it and obviously when you come off the corner with a pre set throttle you will be running at the carbs RICHEST there for affecting your accleration off the bend.... Making it 110% critical you should do the throttle manually...
To be honest from the jetting you say you are running I honestly think you should drop down and start at a 158 in the dry (I have been as low as a 148 in seniors) Also Jetting in the wet will always run 1 jet leaner due to more moister in the air...
Sounds to me like u need a good solid test day to try all theses things.
hope this helps
Vince
